Introduction/Whakataki
The Iterative Best Evidence Synthesis (BES) Programme was a collaborative knowledge building and use strategy to strengthen the evidence base that informed education policy and practice in New Zealand.
Its focus was on valued student outcomes and the trustworthiness of evidence, with an emphasis on research from New Zealand. The main outputs were the BES Iterations, which remain a significant source of research evidence for policy advisers and educators.
The BES Programme closed in 2023.
