Pacific Language Levels
The directory shows the level of Pacific language immersion students are receiving based on the number of hours per week they are being taught the curriculum in a Pacific language.
For a school to be in this directory at least one student must be taught in Pacific Medium (Pacific Language Immersion Levels 1 or 2) or Pacific Language in English Medium (Pacific Language Immersion Levels 3 or 4)..
Pacific Language Immersion Levels describe students being taught at different levels of Pacific language instruction. Each level is defined by the proportion of time the student is taught using a Pacific language.
- PLL-1: 81-100% Curriculum is taught in a Pacific language for more than 20 and up to 25 hours per week
- PLL-2: 51-80% Curriculum is taught in a Pacific language for more than 12.5 and up to 20 hours per week
- PLL-3: 31-50% Curriculum is taught in a Pacific language for more than 7.5 and up to 12.5 hours per week
- PLL-4: 12-30% Curriculum is taught in a Pacific language for more than 3 and up to 7.5 hours per week
