Iterative Best Evidence Synthesis Programme | Hei Kete Raukura

The New Zealand Ministry of Education's best evidence synthesis iterations draw together, explain and illustrate through vignette and case, bodies of evidence about what works to improve education outcomes, and what can make a bigger difference for the education of all our children and young people. The BESs are intended to be a catalyst for systemic improvement and sustainable development in education.

BES Exemplars for Quality Teaching

The BES exemplars focus on how to make a much bigger difference in education. The BES exemplars highlight the potential for disciplined innovation to accelerate systemic improvement in areas of need in schooling.

These resources have been produced as part of the 2nd iteration BES Quality Teaching for Diverse Students in Schooling He Ako Reikura, He Ākonga Rerekura (Te Katoa) Hei Kete Reikura (BES). The exemplars have been developed in consultation with teachers and principals. They explain high impact pedagogies and provide a range of tools to support the use of this evidence for improvement.

The BES Cases describe actual examples of professional practice and analyse the findings. They support educators to grasp the big ideas behind effective practice, and provide vivid insight into their application.
