Executive Summary

The ENGAGE programme aims to enhance children’s self-regulation skills through intentional play. This report brings together the perspectives of ENGAGE facilitators, early learning kaiako/teaching staff (including centre mangers and support staff), and whānau. The report focuses on data collected via an online survey, in-depth interviews, talanoa and wānanga (also likened to focus groups). The evaluation objectives are:

1. Identify the impacts on kaiako, as well as kaiako and whānau perceptions on the impacts of tamariki who participated in ENGAGE.
2. Evaluate the sustainability of outcomes for learning services.
3. Identify implementation factors that contribute to the success of ENGAGE.
