Annual Monitoring of Reading Recovery
This is the home page for the Annual Monitoring of Reading Recovery publication series.
As part of the continuing evaluation of the implementation of Reading Recovery, schools with Reading Recovery are asked to provide information for the Ministry of Education on an annual basis. This information is used to examine trends in the delivery of Reading Recovery and the progress of students, and to assist the Ministry in developing policies regarding literacy.

Background
Since 2001, the Research Division has collected individual student data on Reading Recovery every year. Reading Recovery teachers, and principals complete a student form for every student and an end-of-year report. The Ministry is strongly encouraging the use of the electronic data collection website in 2008. Paper returns will only be accepted for 2008 from schools with limited IT facilities and other unforeseen circumstances.
The online database will continue to be developed further to incorporate feedback received from users. The Ministry continues to work collaboratively with the Trainers at the National Reading Recovery Centre to ensure that the process of online data collection continues to be as smooth as possible for Reading Recovery teachers, tutors, and principals.
