  • Tāhūrangi - Te Whāriki Online

Te Whāriki includes three pathways, Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo, Te Ara Whānui and Te Ara Māori. Te Whāriki a Te Kōhanga Reo is the Māori language curriculum that guides the educational foundations, approach and practices of Kōhanga Reo. Te Ara Whānui is the early childhood curriculum document, Te Whāriki. Te Ara Māori is the curriculum pathway within Te Whāriki based on Māori philosophies, pedagogies, values, practices, and language for Puna Reo, Māori medium and bilingual early learning settings.

    ISNZ represents private and independent schools.

    • New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology

    The New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology, formerly known as Te Pūkenga, was established as a national network for all the country’s 25 polytechnics and industry training organisations. It was founded to better serve the needs of ākonga, employers and communities. The New Zealand Institute of Skills and Technology is now in a process of disestablishment. The Government wishes to return vocational education to regionally autonomous institutions and industry owned on-job training.

    • Association for Tertiary Education Management

    An Australasian association of tertiary education administrators and managers.

    • IEA

    International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement is an independent, international cooperative of national research institutions and governmental research agencies. IEA oversees the TIMSS and PIRLS assessments.

    • PIRLS

    The Progress in International Reading Literacy Study is a research project that will provide information on the reading literacy of Year 5 students. It is an international comparative study. 35 countries participated in the first data collection in 2001.

    • PISA

    The Programme for International Student Assessment is an international study that assesses how well 15-year-old students are prepared to meet the challenges of today's society. It is a three-yearly survey of 15-year-olds in the principal industrialised countries.

    • TIMSS

    Trends in International Mathematics and Science Study, formerly known as the Third International Mathematics and Science Study, is an international comparative study that provides countries the opportunity to examine trends in mathematics and science achievement at the middle primary level (Year 5) and lower secondary level (Year 9).

    The New Zealand Association for Research in Education is an association which aims to foster a high standard in the practice of educational research.
